You may have seen that we have recently launched a campaign to help raise money for the Playground at Theydon Appeal. To help raise awareness a few of us from Butler & Stag will be taking the 3 peaks challenge.For those that don't know what this entails, It means climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in 24 hours.Ben Nevis / Beinn Nibheis (1,344 m or 4,409 ft), the highest mountain in Scotland.Scafell Pike (978 m or 3,209 ft), the highest mountain in England.Snowdon / Yr Wyddfa (1,085 m or 3,560 ft), the highest mountain in Wales.A popular misconception is that the three mountains that form the challenge are the three tallest on the British mainland. Rather, they are the tallest mountains within each representative country: Scafell Pike is the tallest in England; Snowdon, the tallest in Wales and Ben Nevis the tallest in Scotland - over one hundred peaks in Scotland are higher than Scafell Pike, and 56 higher than Snowdon.Taking part on the weekend of Friday 28th October help is needed to help us reach our target of £10,000.Help build a better future for children and young people and our Theydon playground.
