Every Saturday morning an eclectic mix of people ranging from the infamous 'Hackney Hipsters' to young families gather along the renowned Broadway market to awaken their culinary senses. I had taken the scenic route and walked down the Regents Canal all the way from Angel as the weather was nothing short of glorious. Upon my arrival, it soon hit me that I was going to be spoilt for choice at this market. Prospective buyers are mesmerized by numerous food stall options ranging from Persian to Vietnamese; they truly do cater for every taste and culture. After trawling the pavements for what seemed an age, I decided to sample the 'Buttermilk Chicken Burger' from a stall called Butchies. This was quite literally one of the best-tasting things I have ever put in my mouth. The chicken was dark and crunchy and filled with flavor whilst the brioche bun was brushed with butter before toasting, an exquisite touch. Food is not the only option available for the hordes of people who descend upon one of London's most famous markets. One can acquire all manner of artisan goods ranging from specialized cheeses to hand woven fabrics and painted ceramics. "Prospective buyers are mesmorised with numerous food stall options ranging from Persian to Vietnamese" After I had satisfied my hunger cravings I popped into one of the many watering holes 'The Cat and Mutton.' This particular establishment had been standing for over 300 years. Having recently changed hands the building had been modernized into a new cocktail and food destination which specializes in experimental cocktails. I was told that these cocktails, such as 'Nellie's Frisk, have been named after previous pub landlords.' After a few choice cocktails, I decided to meet some friends in the nearby London Fields Park. The sun was shining and the park was packed with all manner of people enjoying picnics and makeshift barbecues.
