Fundraising activities like this often involve participants seeking sponsors or donations based on the distance they cycle or the time they spend cycling. It's a fantastic initiative that combines fitness, community involvement, and support for a local organization. In a remarkable display of teamwork, determination, and a shared commitment to giving back to the community, Butler & Stag recently took part in a challenging continuous 24-hour cycle event. The idea for the 24-hour cycling challenge was raise funds for Theydon Bois PreSchool, in order for them to stay open. The Pandemic has had a detrimental effect on the financial side of Theydon Bois PreSchool, as a result, they are in a state of urgency to raise money to recover from the last 3 years. Theydon Bois Pre School is such a large part of the community we would be devastated if Covid would be the result of them having to close their doors, as they have played such a large role in the community for nearly 60 years. We know how much this means to not only Theydon Bois, but also Abridge, Loughton, Epping and the surrounding area. We decided that a cycling event would not only test our physical limits but also provide an excellent platform for raising funds for a local cause. On the big day, our team gathered outside our Theydon Bois office, brimming with excitement and anticipation for a 4pm start. The atmosphere was electric as we embarked on our epic cycling journey. Dividing ourselves into smaller groups, we took turns cycling in shifts, ensuring that there was always someone supporting the cycler. Through the dark hours of the night and the challenges posed by fatigue, our determination never wavered. A special mention to Ted, Neil and Ella who covered these hours. They encouraged and supportedone another, pushing them to new limits. The generosity of the supporters who showed up in person or contributed online served as a constant source of inspiration, reminding us of the impact our efforts would have on Theydon Bois Pre School.
